WHAT YOU WILL LEARN...
You will learn:
- How to use a template and transfer the image accurately onto darker fabric
- How to use a reference image
- How to build up layers of fibre to create depth and realism
- How to blend colours and fibres
- How to work on a small scale and and still add details
- How to felt very thin lines (additional link to extra tutition and practice fabric included)
- How to turn your finished portrait into a usable mini stocking (basic hand or machine sewing needed)
Please note:
This project may look daunting and whilst it may challenge you, due to the step-by-step nature of the tutorial you will have an amazing portrait at the end; and the bonus with creating the magical and mysterious Santa is that it doesn't need to look exactly like the reference image.
The hardest part of this project is felting thin lines, but there will be an extra section of the tutorial covering this and some extra fabric to practice with!
In order to turn your finished portrait into the stocking, you will need to use some basic hand sewing (back-stitch) or machine sewing.
Finished Size:
Stocking is approx 25.5cm long from the top of the cuff to the furthest distance at the toes. The cuff is approximately 13cm wide and approximately 5cm.
